Important dates in history of telecommunications in Montenegro:

1869.
The first telegraph line was established between Cetinje-Rijeka Crnojevića-Virpazar

May 1870.
4 telegraph stations

April 1873.
The first Post office was opened in Cetinje.

1895.
The first long distance telephone traffic was introduced between Cetinje, Rijeka Crnojevića and Podgorica. Telephones were installed in the royal palaces.

1904.
The first radio–telegraph station was put in operation

1.07.1907
Telephone service, for official use only, was established in the following stations: Cetinje, Podgorica, Nikšić, Kolašin, Bar, Ulcinj, Žabljak, Andrijevica and Grahovo.

12.08.1910
Established telephone public traffic in Cetinje, Rijeka and Bar.

05.10.1910
Established telephone public traffic in Podgorica and Vir.

15.10.1910
Established telephone public traffic in Kolašin.

06.12.1910
Established telephone public traffic in Danilovgrad

1930
The first automatic switch in Montenegro was put in operation in Herceg Novi and Zelenika

April 1945.
Head Office of PTT was established in Cetinje

1965.
PTT enterprises of Montenegro integrated into PTT Traffic of Montenegro

1965.
Built network of radio-relay systems Titograd-Lovćen, Bjelasica-Beograd, Titograd-Cetinje, Cetinje-Kotor-Herceg Novi

April 1965.
96 telephone stations with 5710 subscribers in operation in the territory of Montenegro

1985.
The first digital switch was installed in Tolosi (Titograd)

31.12.1998
TT Traffic of Montenegro separated into two separate companies: Montenegro Post and Telecom Montenegro 

26.09.2006.
Telekom Crne Gore changes its name to Crnogorski Telekom with its two brands: T- Com and T-Mobile

01.05.2009.
Legal merger of T-Mobile Crna Gora and Internet Crna Gora into mother company Crnogorski Telekom AD. The subsidiaries of Crnogorski Telekom (T-Mobile Crna Gora doo and Internet Crna Gora doo) ceased to exist and all their employees, activities, assets and liabilities, etc have been taken over by Crnogorski Telekom. However, the company continues its operations under two brands: T-Com and T-Mobile.
